While driving home from work Thursday afternoon I heard a story about John Huston (Maltese Falcon, African Queen, etc.) on NPR's All Things Considered. Apparently, Huston's 1946 film Let There be Light was never released because of its controversial nature in showing the realities of war-related PTSD. The film is available for free in its entirety at the National Film Preservation Foundation's website through August. It's a pretty interesting watch, especially as we celebrate Memorial Day.
